Om: The Eternal Syllable Of Hinduism

In Hinduism, Om (or Aum) is a sacred sound and one of the most important spiritual symbols. It is considered as the mother of all mantras. It refers to Atman (soul / self within) and Brahman (ultimate reality / entirety of the universe / truth / supreme spirit).

Om is spoken at the beginning and the end of every Hindu mantras, prayers, and meditations and is frequently used in Buddhist and Jain rituals as well. It is also used in the practice of Yoga and is related to techniques of auditory meditation.
